Tracy, following up on Aaron's query; is that the walkway between the old Innes (now Finney State Office Building) and the parking garage?
Tracy Phillips said:
Credit WSC's son Dylan for that.
I'm clueless of course.
I wanna replace it with a picture I took of Javits Center in NYC, but my pic was too many bytes I think.
Javits is entirely glass on the outside.
Takes 4 guys 1 year to clean, then they start over.

Vaughn, I think you're right -- looks like downtown Wichita to me. Parked and walked on that suspended walkway to shop at Macy's many many a time.

I tried setting up my own personal blog as a journal. Couldn't do it. Hope I didn't send the entire blogging world into oblivion. Actually I think I already have a personal blog and can find it sometimes, changed a color last night, couldn't figure out how to type anything into the blog section. I am sooo challenged (that's a nice word of saying stupid!).

So, Linda, now's not the right time to talk about compiling and installing the latest version of Gnash from source, right? :-)

Linda, you have one already.

Now, what precisely are you having trouble with? I'd be glad to help you guide you in the right direction.

Linda, Aaron had to help me, along with WSC and Dylan.
you can keep going to Aaron's shout box to bug him like I did.

Is Gnash something you do with your teeth when you are trying to simply type something into your blog which you think exists because sometimes you can actually find it... ??
What IF (not admitting to this you must understand), just IF someone were so stupid they didn't know the right questions to ask?

Linda, the Gnash of which I posted (in jest) is an open-source software program that allows those of us who so desire to view, if not hear, "Flash" movies, etc.
Now, as to the other gnash(ing) of teeth; just ask Aaron, et al; I'm sure that if you provide them with a detailed exposition of what you were attempting, they will be able to assist.

The pic that Dylan used for Tracy's banner, as VT said, is from downtown Wichita.
BTW - If you need banners or avatars, Dylan can help you out. Just drop me a line. He does a lot of graphics works, designing tee shirts etc for his gaming clan. He does a little website work as well.

Tracy, the pic can be compressed. If Dylan or Aaron are tied up and don't have time, send it to me.
I do website design, too, Will. I'll have to hook up with Dylan (not in THAT way!) and compare. I'm not a techie, though, so he'd be disappointed, I'm sure. *grin* Currently I have 13 websites I've designed and maintain, and I'm about to finish #14.

I need a little help.
My best friend (for almost 44 years) has decided she wants to be a good woman turned bad. She was always the good girl, while I was... well, I wasn't BAD, but I wasn't all that good, either. *grin* Anyway, she's looking for some clubs to go to. I haven't paid attention to the club scene for decades, so I'm clueless about where a couple of ladies (and I use the term loosely LOL) who have passed the 1/2 century mark, could go for a drink or two. Not a restaurant.
Is anyone familiar with Micol and Kaycie's at Pawnee & Meridian? Micol Cunningham used to play with Michael at the Crown Room on Meridian, years ago. They played lots of oldies and were great. Lots of fun when they were playing. But that doesn't mean his and his wife's club would be anything like that.
And I promise to be GOOD. Bad wasn't all that great, but maybe I should post that to Tracy's MEMORIES thread.

I'm looking forward to the answers you might get to this question!
I've always liked "dives" a little better than upscale popular places.
One of my favorite places used to be Barney's Place (Ridge & Maple). Barney died about a year ago and we have only been in there two or three times since his death. It's still open and I'm sure some of the people we used to enjoy still go in, but WHEN? I am sooo out of it.
We go to one place for drinks that we've been going to for over 25 years -- Savutes Stick 'n Rudder. Nothing exciting ever happens there. It's just comfortable. We know most everyone. When we go out it's more for the company than the drinks -- we can have a drink at home. So I like to go to our "Cheers," where everybody knows our name.

Thanks, Linda! I'm taking notes. :)
Is that the Savutes on N. Broadway? I had dinner there once, long, long ago. I think my oldest went there with her two dates (who weren't really dates, but...) before her junior prom. The food was great!
My friend just wants to get out and about, I think. Her hubby never liked to, so she didn't. I did most of my badness before marriage, but afterward, we did go out once in a blue moon.
Speaking of blue moons...we'll have one this month on the 31st. Today is the first full moon of the month, then that blue one at the end.

I just realized I might have put Savutes in a "dive" category. It isn't! I think what I was trying to say is I prefer the down-home comfortable to the uptown dress up type places. I'm not into any kind of phony or fake or even sophisticated. Yes, it's the one on N. Broadway (about 33rd). The Stick 'n Rudder opened some 27 or 28 years ago and is a bar built as an addition to the restaurant. The seats are airplane seats and the "decor" is all description of airplane paraphernalia. We usually sit at the bar where we know everyone. If you go in tell Cindy the bartender hi from Wayne and Linda. It's not a place two gals could get into any kind of trouble. Shoot, call me (listed in the book) and I'll go with you. Maybe we could find a place to get in trouble if we search together.

Bail money? Isn't that what friends are for?? Or what's that thing about the true friend sitting beside you talking about what fun that was??
I need to come here and rest and vent and feel quiet.
There was a comment at another place that I allowed to upset me. Shouldn't let that happen! Suffice it to say I got it out of my system (mostly). But responding to stupidity isn't necessary. The best thing I could have done was come here and type and type and type -- not justify something stupid with a response.
OK. I'm stopping now.

Like Linda and others, I recognize the old Macy's walkway. Park in the parking garage, right? Then walk across? I can't imagine how many times we did that in high school, once we drivers licenses. That was before the big malls, when downtown still had some stores. Henry's across the street, the Hallmark shop next to Macy's, Russell Stover Candies north of that. I'm sure everyone remembers Woolworths, too. Montgomery Ward and Inness/Macy's vying for the best Christmas window.
Hmmmm, this should go in memories, I guess.
Linda, what topic were you referring to? I left a little note for the person, too. I know. I'm bad. tee hee

Linda, you were right; the Iraqis are thinking about shutting down for two months. Posted this over on the main WV Blog, too, so you would see it.

Pre and VT,
I heard from a reliable source that the reason Santa is so jolly is because he knows where all the bad girls live. ;-)
