Linda, funny you mention that. Problee another short story in this thought somewhere. When I was the local drunk, I bought my liquor in 'blacktown' or 'the bottoms' as we knew it. Raymond, the man who owned the place always just called me NUT. He knew my name. Mind you, that's been 15 yrs since I've seen the man, walking through Walmart weeks ago I saw him. He never missed a step, just nodded and said, "Hello NUT!"

(Posting link here, too.) Blog post from four USAF logistics officers assigned to the Army in Afghanistan about their year together. Complete with pictures. Humorous, a bit poignant, worth reading (much less dark than last week's post by the Sergeant in Baghdad).
Something has occurred to me - if I vote for Barack Obama in the 2008 Presidential Election, it will be the first time that I have voted for a presidential candidate that was younger than me.
Now if it is John Edwards, I believe that he is the same age as I am. Hillary is older than me.
All of the leading Republican candidates are older than I am, not that I would vote for any of them.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm - this is a defining moment - the next President of the United States may be younger than I am.
I truly don't know what to think?!?!?!

WS, I fully expect to experience this in some election; the 2008 election may just be the one. Just evidence of our seniority in the population, huh?
For now, I'm Rox again. I'm too lazy to switch my login tonight. Live with it. *grin*

My father-in-law (rest his soul) said two professionals you want to be younger than you are your doctor and your lawyer -- because NO WAY do you want to break in new ones when you are old enough to need them most!
Speaking of old...I like Rox better. I can't keep track of all the nics. Bloggers that I used to know, now I can't remember who is associated with each moniker.
