TUESDAY CLOSED

OPEN THREADS

Well, so much for my last bastion of sanity.

Looks like I don't even have time to comment.

I have a certain (manly) fondness and respect for WSC.

Therefore I wish to redirect you to his blog.

Linda, Rox, VT, LH, WSC, Julie, you have been the best damned strangers (read: friends) I've ever met. I'll catch up with you at WSC's spot.

Oh, and it's raining today.

I'm willing to save the world by riding my bike in the sunshine, but....well....sorry mother nature.

Arriving at work soaking wet is just too great of a sacrifice.

HA!

Walter, James, Kimberly...if you're out there lurking~

HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!

I'm hoping it's only something as terrible as your employer now demands you owe not just most of your time but your soul to the company. Although when it gets that busy, all the important things suffer. Other than you being slightly mentally deranged (which is understood and very acceptable) is everything OK? Your wife, kids, Dad, Mom...??

I love Will too, and respect him greatly, but I'm not one of his friends which means I can't comment at his Shoutbox and there is no blog thread...

Guess you're stuck with me. Can't kick me out! Who says I can't visit when you're not home!? You gave me a key so I could come and go as I pleased.

im, what a pretty name you have! I didn't know it until now. How in the world do you and Tracy know one another? Isn't it a small world?

longhorn, I don't know very much about these blogs but I'll share the little I have figured out -- THEN you can go out and figure out more and share with me! Deal? If you click on anyone's name to the right of "Posted By," you get to a potential individual blog. In some cases you get an empty house, in others you get a room or two that has been freshly painted but no furniture moved in. I've painted a room or two, but don't have a clue how to move in furniture, can't stock the fridge and I'm not living where the fridge isn't stocked!

There is a listing at the top of each "blog" with words like "About Me," "Photo Galleries," "Blog." Tracy has added several to his blog here and he has done a BANG-UP job of making this an active place to visit with more info than I have been able to navigate -- but remember I'm stuck in 33 rpm so find "the internets" almost as confusing as the idiot i charge of our country.

So, click on WSClark or even the photo of his Grandfather and that's how you get to his blog. Find the page titled "My Friends" and click on the "Request To Be Added." Maybe he will get back to both of us and make us his friends.

Wow Linda, you dont sound like 33rpm to me!!

And funny stuff about the rooms. Ditto on the fridge.

Can I bring my smoker to the back yard?

Heheheh. This weekend, for various graduation parties and my pantry, I smoked two eight pound pork loins, a twelve pound brisket, two salmon sides and a whole bone in ham.

And I'm eating broccoli, cauliflower, kohlrabi, lettuce, spinach, radishes and various sauted greens.

Could someone send me more tp? hehehehehheehheheheh. All this healthy eating is KILLING me!

Oh, and did I mention I should be frying some of my chickens by July 4? Just in time for early sliced tomatoes too!

Tracy, I'm gonna miss you while you're off doing your (manly) duty. I know everyone else will too, but I/we understand. Life sometimes gets in the way.

We'll leave the light on for ya. ;)

No Child Left Behind Scandal Widens

http://blogs.abcnews.com/theblotter/2007/05/no_chi...
A scathing report issued today documents "substantial financial ties" between key advisors of Reading First, a controversial federal reading grant program, and publishers who benefited from the program.

Bush Profiteers collect billions from NCLB
http://www.diatribune.com/bush-profiteers-collect-...
Several large corporations and their lobbyists have profited from Bush's NCLB by tapping billions of dollars in standardized testing and in "supplemental education services" funds since its passage in 2001. They're lining up now to expand their profit margins for the next six years as NCLB is being re-authorized.

Schools pile on English, math classes
http://www.contracostatimes.com/ci_5936588
Under federal pressure to increase scores on English and math tests, many low-achieving schools in the Bay Area and across the country are loading up students with two or even three periods of math and English and abandoning electives such as art, music and shop.

What a shock to open Tracy's Blog this morning. Anyway, my blog has an open thread available, a Tracy Phillips special edition.

Here is the addy......

http://wsclark.instantspot.com/blog/index.cfm/2007...

The blog is bare bones right (write) now, but it will be full blown by tomorrow.

Linda Inks was correct about adding to my blog list. I have already added her. Just click on Ole' Dill (my ancient ancestor) and I will add you.

Cheers!!!

And take care Tracy!

Nobody asked but I know the drill -- it's Tuesday and we get to nominate for Turd's Day Awards.

I nominate Tracy's employer!

The nerve of taking him further from his family, his friends, his life, his on-line friends...

Tracy, I'll retract the nomination if I find out they're making you a millionaire so this won't have to be long term; or even if I find out you absolutely love your work and are feeling more fulfilled than in a long time. If it's the second you might get a lecture about what is really important or even be a future nominee.
