ANGEL FOOD MINISTRIES
CURRENT EVENTSIf you have not already heard about this wonderful ministry, then please check it out. My wife and I volunteer at our church, which is the distribution center for smaller area churches.
Since most of the hourly people where I work are always at work during pick-up times, I collect their orders and pick them up for them. This is a great thing for all involved.
THIS IS THE REAL WORK OF CHRIST.
NOT PICKETING FUNERALS, ABORTION CLINICS, AND BUILDING "CREATIONIST" MUSEUMS.....sheesh.

I posted somewhere about Angel Food Ministries. My best friend told me about it. The best thing is that anyone can be a part of it. There are no income limitations, so if you've in a spot where bills have hit hard, it's nice to have a little help with filling the tummy.
There was a time when we made a couple of trips to the KS Food Bank. I know they have good hearts and so do those who contribute to it. But we had 6-7 of us living in one house, and one sack of groceries from the Food Bank was hard to spread out over a month. It was the pie that we picked up mid-morning and by evening had mold on the top that made me decide to go without or find somewhere else.
Central Community Church is very generous. My mother was a member at the time. They really loaded us down with food! All kinds, includingsome meat (hot dogs and the like, mostly, but a turkey and some hamburger, too), frozen food, and some really good basics we could build on.
As you can see, I'm not too proud to admit that we did have to get some help. Post-divorce with all 4 kids and a granddaughter was sometimes not real cheery. But we lived through it and are proof that life does get better. :)
