Aaron, the only problem I have with free will is....
my own tends to turn into sumpin' resembling the cartoon tazmanian devil..
or, as I call it,
SELF WILL RUN RIOT.

I beleive it was Paul Harvey who always said:
"There can be no freedom without self-restraint."

I've known some people who hide behind the libertarian tag so that they can have there own self
will run riot.
Big brother prefers to call them criminals.
At heart, I agree with the libertarian philosophy.
But, I could say that about communism too, I guess.
My ideal would be to live in the "hidden valley" with John Galt and his fellow libertarians.

It took me forever -- 10 years and several starts -- before I finally read Atlas Shrugged. One day I read far enough that I was "hooked," and I didn't do anything else but read until it was finished. I was very young then and dreamed of a place where everyone pulled their own weight, offered help freely but never expected any, desired accountability and didn't need recognition, shared their talents and skills for the good of the community, respected everyone... It still would be a good world, huh?

It is important to be true to one's own ideals while being compassionate and allowing others to express their views without judging them. When I grow up that's the kind of person I want to be. I want a lot more room in my heart and a BIG truckful of tolerance.
