Tracy, I'm puzzled as to how the "Commander-in-Chief" of the blog can be AWOL. :-)
Hope the heart cath goes well, and there are not any surprises.

Tracy,
I don't think they do those heart caths lightly -- you be good, now. Sure hope whatever is suspected turns out to be nothing or simple. Take care of yourself and your wife.

Tracy, I'll be sending positive thoughts and prayers to you and your wife until we hear everything went well.

I see the whole gang here at snark central has covered all the well wishes, but please let me add mine. As one middle aged woman to another, I hope your wife surprises the docs and is stout hearted in fact as well as phrase.
I hope you, Tracy, are not terminally bored, and I hope, as someone said, there are no surprises and you are back in the saddle at work and the blog tomorrow.
Where would the cyber meerkats here be without their fearless leader?
hehehehehe!

Pardon the minor dad brag, but just had to post this:

Yet another thing the parents didn't know about (of course, once they're in college, there are many things that are best not known to parents....
Tracy, a bit late, but in talking with rm late yesterday, he said as he's a vet of three heart caths the process is painless, and actually (to him) a fascinating experience. Hope all went well for the wife.

Great! Makes the efforts WSU is making to address "the brain drain" seem not quite adequate. And, the younger gets quoted! You know, I'm a real fan of "Dad brag."
When will rm join us and contribute to our musings? Until then, thanks for passing along comments from him.

VT - Congrats to you and your wife - it sounds like you two have raised a fine daughter!
Longhorn - speaking of meerkats - my beloved Oreo is now standing on his hind legs watching TV to see if any canines dare intrude on 'his' territory. If any pooches appear on the screen he drops down and starts barking and pouncing forward until they leave the shot. He doesn't do this all the time but several times throughout the evening.
Fearless leader - I'm all about lists! My to do list is miles long. I've sent you another funny so check your inbox.

Linda,
rm is in the process of "moving to his own place", and thus won't be joining us for a while. He has assured me that once he's settled in, has the "magic box" all hooked up, etc., that he will once again favor us with his presence.

It is interesting how the State of Maine has decided on how it will fight its "brain drain". There are many activities going on up there with aggressive state sponsorship to not only keep the college grads home, but also attracting new businesses which can take advantage of the pool of potential employees. While there is the "base" tourist industry, and not to slight L.L. Bean and the town of Freeport (not to mention Kittery) for those who like to "shop until you drop" (many, many outlets, many retail stores in both towns), the State, by and through its elected leaders, has determined it most necessary to diversify its economy. To do so, it (the State) has been promoting alternative energy (wind farms, looking at its hydro resources, trying to wean itself from heating oil, etc.) to ensure sources of energy for the prospective businesses which isn't "more of the same". Reading various sources of information from "up there", it appears that these steps are bringing attention, as well as some relocation. I fear that one major drawback, however, is without the control of the state officials; the WINTERS. However, if a company has sufficient snow bunnies in its employ, I am given to understand that the two ski resorts located within the state (Sugarloaf and Sunday River) are quite attractive to such folks.

Kansas will be the last to diversify, promote alternative energy, and anything else that sounds like looking to the future. We've nearly always been behind the rest of the country. Is it that we want to make 100% sure that something "new" will work? Or do we just drag our heels, kicking and screaming into the future?
VT, give rm our best and wishes that all goes well for him with his move. And congrats to you and your better half on raising two wonderful daughters! It ain't easy these days. :)
Tracy, you and YOUR better half are in my thoughts today. Let us know when you can how everything went for her (and you).

I report, you decide; is 76 minutes of GWB without a script an Eighth Amendment violation?

I looked it up and found that the Eighth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution prohibits cruel and unusual punishment. I can honestly answer your question, not just yes, but HELL yes! Without a script does mean he included several mentions of, "in other words..." And other assorted mumblings of nonsense that NO ONE was able to decipher so that might have helped. Where was he speaking and who had to endure?

Oh, there's a link. Well wasn't that a V-8 moment? I have way too many of these...
Rox said:
Definitely a violation of the 8th. If I'd had to endure that, I would've slit my wrists with a rusty nail.
