OKIE WISDOM

HUMOR
  1. Never slap a man who's chewing tobacco.
  2. Never kick a cow chip on a hot day.
  3. There are 2 theories to arguing with a woman...neither works.
  4. Never miss a good chance to shut up.
  5. Always drink upstream from the herd.
  6. If you find yourself in a hole, stop digging.
  7. The quickest way to double your money is to fold it and put it back in your pocket.
  8. There are three kinds of men: The ones that learn by reading, the few who learn by observation, and the rest of us have to pee on the electric fence and find out for ourselves.
  9. Good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.
  10. If you're riding' ahead of the herd, take a look back every now and then to make sure it's still there.

LOL...

on another subject - I stopped by "over there" this morning, because I was curious to see what Gore winning the Nobel was going to do to the boards. I saw ksgrm is back. Now I know I DEFINITELY will not be going there anymore. That woman just pisses me off. One, I don't think she stops to think about the things that she says before she says them, which frequently leads to her saying incredibly stupid things and then vehemently defending them when she is proven wrong. Two, she personally insulted me by implying that I do not spend enough time with my son when we were having an argument about single parents... I believe she said something like, well I don't know about anyone else, but I don't remember having enough time with toddlers to be posting so frequently on the internet, maybe you should find something better to do with your time. If I actually knew her as a person, I would say I could likely hate her... GRRRRR.... I also did a little reading on the SCHIP blog once I noticed it on there, because I just couldn't WAIT to see what they all had to say, and I only made it about halfway through before I had to just leave and say no more because it made me so mad... I hate stupid people, really I do! :)

She does seem pretty perfect, doesn't she?

I go there less and less and leave more quickly. I'm of the opinion who we spend time with rubs off on us and there are some there who have cooties!

Wendy, the best illustration of the lack of intelligence of ksgrm was on the said thread (I'm sure you missed it because you quit reading) when she was complaining of "unreported income" and the contractor/employee dodge. Apparently, her business got nailed by the IRS for one of these and she righteously said "well, we don't do that anymore" or something like that. I'd already decided to ignore her further after correcting her misstatements about something I'd posted the day before, and came close to changing my mind. Basically, I've had clients that tried that in the past, and it all comes down to one thing; the client saw a way to save money by treating the person as a contractor vs. an employee. Now, the evil part of me wanted to fire a post back to her basically saying that no honest person ever gets conned, but I decided she'd never understand that, so I let it go.

BTW, she never picked up on my sarcasm on her comment that Derby had a good ethnic diversity based upon her attendance at programs at the high school. I posted a link to the "diversity" figures for the HS in Derby (amazingly, there are 16.17% of the students there who are not "white", given that Derby proper is 92.4% "white", but the district is more than Derby), then followed up with a link to the numbers from Wichita NW (the "whitest" of all of 259, with 26% of the students not "white") and I guess she didn't catch what I was trying to say. Must have been too subtle.

Anyway, she's a piece of work to be sure.

Could this ksgrm possibly be Tippy/G.Sheridan?
Sure sounds like it.
IT always spoke about being a business owner, and ALSO sent someone from the state to Longhorn's restaraunt to see if she was paying "off the books", as such.
Everything you folks describe lead me to believe IT is one and the same. Most annoying and infuriating waste of human flesh on the blogosphere.

Tracy,

i actually do not think they are the same person - if you read ksgrm's posts, they just don't sound like the same person writing - whereas with the others who like to parade several psuedonyms around, you can tell it is all the same person talking... plus, they did both post at the same time for quite a period, until ksgrm left, claiming WSClark forced her off the blog with threats (he said he wished he knew what company she owned so he could get his friends in her area to boycott it - apparently that is somehow threatening to her safety, or so she claims)

I don't think ksgrm is as intelligent as Tippy. As opinionated and as large a legend in her own mind, but doesn't write as well, use the English language as correctly...

I've just returned from the zoo. My daughter and granddaughter and I spent the day together - shopping, visiting the zoo, eating at a new restaurant -- it's my birthday and it was a wonderful treat to spend the day with those two lovely ladies!

Now, thunder has arrived and the rain can't be far. So it's a good time to be home!

Gary, It moved through the west side quickly and is gone leaving not nearly enough rain in its wake.

Thank you Wendy. It's a bit of a hard one to swallow. Born in 1947 so you do the math and you'll understand. How in the entire world can a person get this old and when did this become not old and when is my brain going to grow up??

Linda, HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Look at it this way; no one who really matters is counting......

Rain moved through downtown relatively quickly as well, but we seem to have received more than an insubstantial amount (looking out the window at the streets).

The same impulse which makes one look at the results of a traffic accident when one goes by caused me to look in "over there"; OMG, what the mere mention of the name of Vice President Gore does, and the vituperation has flowed into at least two other threads as well. I'm not going back until Monday, and that's just to see if things have calmed down. I knew 259 was out of school today, just didn't realize a bunch of middle schoolers would hijack the names of some of the regulars.......

Thank you Vaughn.

Yes, 259 was out today and will be again Monday. And all the private schools were at the zoo today. It was a jumpin' place! But we should all feel lots of pride in what a wonderful zoo we have! Also a private party was there and their speaker was Jane Goodall! I think (just my guess) it was a Downing gathering. Appeared nary a one in attendance was less than well heeled.

Vaughn, I had the same thoughts... Just seems ridiculous to me the name calling that people resort to over there. I mean really, they want to complain about not being able to have an adult discussion? They need to learn how to have one first! Somehow it is always someone else's fault - and I noticed that even GMC70, who while is quite vocal in his criticisms typically stayed away from the nasty name calling habits, has begun to resort to the same... While I will admit that some people on both sides get rather vitriolic at times, doesn't this rather seem a case of the pot calling the kettle black?
