ROY WATCH

JULIE'S CORNER

Roy's Creatin (kidney function) DROPPED from 7.6 to 7.4 - granted it's not much but IT DROPPED!!!!!!!!!
His CPK's (heart enzyme) continue to drop this time from 37,528 to 22,020.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was so excited I did my little happy dance!!!
He continues to do well on dialysis.

I spoke w/ Dr. Moore (the infectious disease specialist) who was pleased with the lab results for Roy.  When Roy was first admitted all lab work was positive for staph - now only 1/2 are showing positive.
He's optimistic that Roy will make a full recovery and cautiously optimistic that Roy will be off the ventilator by Thanksgiving and home by Christmas.  Roy will be on a 6 week dose of heavy duty antibiotics that should take care of things.

THANK YOU LORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are in no means out of the woods because Roy is still very sick but the good Lord is taking care of things!!!!!!!!!

"Make Me Smile", to borrow a song title. Julie, good news on MM. Still a long struggle, I know, but all signs right now point up.

As the regulars know, my wife has recently been hospitalized and treated for a serious anemia situation. I've been sharing with you, as you are an "extended family", if you will. As I responded to Linda's question the other day on her condition, when I got permission from her, I'd let you know the current status.

The following statement has been approved for release by the Commander in Chief and High Mistress of the Ministry of Information in my house, a/k/a my wife:

She will be entering the hospital Tuesday, Nov. 20 for a hysterectomy. The anemia appears to be the result of fibroids, which resulted in bleeding. She will be recuperating for around four to six weeks from the surgery. The timing of the surgery works out for her to miss the minimum amount of work, as there are vacations/breaks upcoming for the school.

That's all I'm permitted to provide you.

Julie, I put this here as the place most will read, and not to detract from all the good news which has been forthcoming on your husband's condition. Tracy or whomever, if you want to move this to another thread, that's OK with me; I don't want to detract from Julie's "good news".

There is no need for an apology or explanation VT!
I'm so very glad that they've found the cause of the issues w/ the missus and are fixing it!
She and you will be in many prayers (including mine).

It's funny how we all have become extended family and care so deeply about each other and our loved ones!
It's almost enough to make me cry (I'm a little emotional right now anyway) sniff sniff.

I'm glad the timing of convenience and need to git her done seem to be one in the same, Vaughn. Thank the lady in charge for sharing with people who really do care!

It's the sharing that makes people close. Trusting enough to show who we are, warts and all, and then finding that it's OK. Coupled with admiration for and sometimes agreement with.

For me, I am awed by the intelligence represented here. You guys are able to discuss topics I know nothing about -- music, art, hedge-fund managers, history, economics, to name just a few. I feel privileged to have found such a nice bunch of friends. ;-)
