As the regulars know, my wife has recently been hospitalized and treated for a serious anemia situation. I've been sharing with you, as you are an "extended family", if you will. As I responded to Linda's question the other day on her condition, when I got permission from her, I'd let you know the current status.

The following statement has been approved for release by the Commander in Chief and High Mistress of the Ministry of Information in my house, a/k/a my wife:

She will be entering the hospital Tuesday, Nov. 20 for a hysterectomy. The anemia appears to be the result of fibroids, which resulted in bleeding. She will be recuperating for around four to six weeks from the surgery. The timing of the surgery works out for her to miss the minimum amount of work, as there are vacations/breaks upcoming for the school.

That's all I'm permitted to provide you.

Julie, I put this here as the place most will read, and not to detract from all the good news which has been forthcoming on your husband's condition. Tracy or whomever, if you want to move this to another thread, that's OK with me; I don't want to detract from Julie's "good news".

It's the sharing that makes people close. Trusting enough to show who we are, warts and all, and then finding that it's OK. Coupled with admiration for and sometimes agreement with.

For me, I am awed by the intelligence represented here. You guys are able to discuss topics I know nothing about -- music, art, hedge-fund managers, history, economics, to name just a few. I feel privileged to have found such a nice bunch of friends. ;-)
