BLOGGING AND NOTHINGNESS

OPEN THREADS

Nan-in, a Japanese master during the Meiji era (1868-1912), received a university professor who came to inquire about Zen.

Nan-in served tea. He poured his visitor's cup full, and then kept on pouring.

The professor watched the overflow until he no longer could restrain himself. "It is overfull. No more will go in!"

"Like this cup," Nan-in said, "you are full of your own opinions and speculations. How can I show you Zen unless you first empty your cup?"

My metaphorical blog cup is empty and awaiting your morning tea....~Tracy

Good morning. Slackerville today. Happy DONUT day to all.

I hope all the sickies are better, all the caretakers are FABULOUS, and that you are all warm safe and happy.

And no, I'm not drinking this early in the a.m.....

I'm happily watching all the deer and pheasant hunters driving slowly by. I'm enjoying my status as hunter emeritus. Maybe someone will feel sorry for the old girl and stop by to share some fresh kill.

Ummmmmmmmm! Venison and pheasant. It doesnt get any better than that. Well, I do love dove too. And fresh caught fish. And.. well, omnivore that I am, I dont turn down much. My ex bro in law makes the best deer jerky in the world. He likes to trade for salsa.

We are having bacon from the pig in the freezer and eggs from the hens on the farm. Pancakes from scratch. I know it's not donuts, but, it's good anyway.

Happy Saturday to all.

Yummy!!!!!!!!
Longhorn - you're making me hungry!
I'm kidless this weekend so I'm not fixing meals. It's a nice break but I sure wouldn't object if someone offered me a home cooked meal. :)

Mornin' ladies.
Julie, glad things are going OK with MM.
I think you're right, he's out of immediate danger and we can all wait for an occasional update.

From now on we can share joys and concerns on the opens, Okie Dokie?

Of course, the nothingness would be all inclusive, right?

Sorry, I've had my nose to the grindstone and no free time until now.

There's baklava on top of the fridge. I think it's calling to me...

Julie, congrats on the quiet weekend! May this month bring more health to you and yours.

VT, hope things are okay at home.

Longhorn, you're amazing.

Tracy, I like "Nothingness". It sounds peaceful and serene. :)

Damn, longhorn, I'm glad I didn't see your post Saturday; it was difficult enough to come in to the office and try to work without being hungry the entire time.

For my weekend report, all continues to go well with the convalescent, other than a need to acquire some Milk of Magnesia for her (expected issue, according to the home health care folks, whose recommendation was acted upon). Hoping MM continues on his road to recovery.
